Pastoral Student Managers
Please be introduced to our Pastoral Student Managers:
Mr G Wadsworth - Vice Principal, Pastoral
Our students are part of a community who work together, have high expectations of themselves and who we as staff at school are proud to have representing Shelley College.
Overseeing pastoral care, I have the great joy of seeing amazing progress being made by our students both academically and personally during their time with us. Our students have opportunities to engage in a variety of activities both within the national curriculum and beyond, and take pride in doing so.
Mr G Lane - Year 9 Student Manager
I joined the pastoral team in February 2019 following a career as a History and Politics teacher in multiple academies in South Yorkshire. I am proud to be a former Shelley College student and want to ensure that all students are supported to achieve their potential and have exciting opportunities available to them to explore. Alongside my role supporting our Vice Principal for Pastoral as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, I also coordinate our Student Leadership Team and I am one of our emotional wellbeing leads. My commitment to our students and families is that I’ll maintain high expectations and aspirations whilst putting in a consistent level of challenge and support to each and every student to ensure that they are to leave the school having achieved their personal best.
Mrs K Modeste - Year 10 Student Manager
I joined Shelley College in 2007 initially as a teacher of dance. After seeing the pastoral team in action, I realised this was my calling and trained further in counselling young people and safeguarding children. I am incredibly proud to be a member of the pastoral team. When asked what our pastoral team 'dream' was, we decided it was to equip students with the skills to be successful in life. This continues to drive me as part of an outstanding team in an outstanding school, to challenge students to be the best version of themselves they can be.
Mrs L Petrozzi - Year 11 Student Manager
I have been part of the Shelley College pastoral team since 2015, progressing from Student and Family Engagement Officer to my current post as Student Manager. I love being part of such a strong, dynamic team who all share the same aim of working together to help students achieve their personal best. I see students in my year group as part of my team - we all work together and support each other through whatever life throws at us and I am committed to giving them the right balance of positive challenge alongside nurture and assistance.
