We welcomed Ofsted to Shelley College on Tuesday 10^th and Wednesday 11^th December. Thank you to everyone who wished us good luck and provided feedback via the parent survey. We are incredibly pleased with the judgements and feedback and delighted to share the final report with you.

In recognition of everything we do, the inspection team have graded all areas; sixth form, behaviour and attitudes, quality of education, personal development, and leadership & management as ‘Outstanding.’

When reading the report, we hope you agree the number of positive comments is impressive. As there are so many, we won’t include them all here, however we would like to highlight the following:

• Ambition and aspiration are at the heart of everything that Shelley College does.
• In the sixth form, students prepare for future options through a well-designed and purposeful programme.
• Many pupils leave the sixth form to enrol at prestigious universities across the country.
• Behaviour in lessons, and around school, is exceptional.
• All pupils are valued and respected in this school.
• A rare sense of unity and togetherness pervades the school.
• There is a relentless focus on ensuring that the needs of pupils are understood and met.
• Pupils with SEND are expertly supported in lessons.
• The consistently high-quality delivery of the curriculum is remarkable.
• Pupils are exceptionally well prepared for further and higher education and employment.
• A particular strength of the school is the development of pupils’ resilience.
• Pupils are eager to take advantage of the rich variety of the clubs on offer.
• Leaders and staff strive to improve their already first-rate work to reach even higher quality. This shows the ambition, unity and togetherness evident at the school.

The information contained in the report is a result of years of hard work and commitment by students and staff. The support of parents/carers and the local community also plays a pivotal role in our success, so THANK YOU!!

Although we are extremely proud of the report and such positive recognition, we will continue to put students, staff and the local community at the heart of everything we do to ensure we continue to improve.
