Student Testimonials
I have greatly enjoyed my time at this college. It is very friendly and welcoming, but also strives to push all its students to success; not just academically, but also with any passions they may have. Shelley College and the staff have surely left a lasting impact on me, and all other students.

The support at Shelley College from subject teachers and Sixth Form leadership is incredible. I always feel I can speak to any member of staff about any issues; academic or personal. They also encourage a lot of enrichment, such as the events and charity committees, which have given me the opportunity to work with others and get more involved with the wider community.

"The small class sizes at Shelley College Sixth Form made a massive difference to my confidence. Teachers really knew us as individuals and were always willing to go the extra mile. I never felt like just another student — I felt supported the whole way through."

"What stood out to me most was the atmosphere. The sixth form has its own amazing space and it genuinely feels like a community. The teachers are brilliant, and Mr Belk and Mrs Murphy always had time for a chat or advice when you needed it."
Jamie — Former student
"The pastoral care at Shelley College Sixth Form is incredible. Mrs Murphy in particular was such a huge support throughout my time there — whether it was stress about exams or thinking about the future, she was always there to help."
Evie — Former student
"Because the classes are smaller, the teaching feels much more personal. I got so much feedback and support from my teachers, which really helped me improve and get the grades I needed for university."
Jack — Former student
"It wasn’t just about lessons — there were loads of events and opportunities to get involved in things outside the classroom. It made sixth form feel like a really nice place to be every day."
John — Former student
"Mr Belk and Mr Cowling made the sixth form feel really welcoming. They’re both incredibly approachable and always around if you need help or just someone to talk to. That support makes a huge difference when you're studying for A-levels."
Anna — Former student
"The sixth form space itself is fantastic — somewhere you can work, relax, and feel independent. It really prepares you for what university or work will be like."
Amelia — Former student
"Looking back, choosing Shelley College Sixth Form was one of the best decisions I made. The teaching is outstanding, the support is genuine, and you’re encouraged to aim high."
Isabelle — Former student
"Mrs Murphy was honestly the heart of the sixth form while I was there. She is one of the kindest and most caring people I’ve met, and she always made time for students no matter how busy things were. Whether it was checking in during a stressful week, helping us stay organised, or just making sure everyone was okay day to day, she created such a supportive environment. Knowing someone like her was always there made sixth form feel much less overwhelming."
Ella — Former Student
"I joined Shelley College Sixth Form from another high school and was a bit nervous at first, but I settled in really quickly. The sixth form has its own space which made it easy to meet people, and the smaller classes meant teachers got to know me straight away. Mr Belk and Mr Cowling were really welcoming and approachable, and the support from Mrs Murphy made the transition so much easier. Within a few weeks it genuinely felt like I’d been there for years."
