Sixth Form Students Show Heartfelt Support for Skelmanthorpe Community and Remembrance Day
Students and staff have come together in a meaningful demonstration of support and community spirit this month, contributing to Skelmanthorpe Community Pantry and commemorating Remembrance Day.
Members of the Charity Committee, alongside Sixth Form students and staff, gathered generous donations for Skelmanthorpe Community Pantry, which were gratefully received during a recent visit. Volunteers also joined Mrs. Murphy in selling poppies at a local supermarket. Though some were camera-shy, their efforts made a lasting impression.
Year 12 and Year 13 students later united for a special Remembrance Day assembly led by Mr. Belk, where both staff and students shared touching photos and memories of family members who have served in the past and present. This heartfelt assembly reminded students of the sacrifices that allow us the freedom we cherish today.
We are exceptionally proud of each student’s respectful engagement, a testament to their commitment to community and remembrance.
