The Differences, and Similarities, between ICT and Applied ICT

How much of the course is practical work? 60% of the marks for this course are based on theory exams however this is usually, but not always, delivered via practical means. There will be times when you are studying in a non-practical way. Nearly all work in this course is practical as all the units are assessed in a practical way. There is some theory but this is delivered via practical means.
What software will I use? Office applications - such as Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases.

Website Design - as 2 of the units are assessed using a website then this is likely to be the main focus of the work in Year 12.

What jobs will this course be appropriate for? Any!! Although ICT jobs in particular usually ask for experience this is a good, solid background course. Same as ICT however the more practical nature of the course means you will have additional experience over the students on the ICT course.
What Higher Education courses will this be appropriate for? Any!! ICT is a good, solid background course for study at a higher level. The theory content of this course makes it slightly more appropriate for Computing, Computer Science courses etc Same as ICT however the more practical nature of the course means you would have an excellent grounding for courses such as Website development, MultiMedia etc
