STEM: Kitchen Sink Science

Students from across the pyramid and Kirklees joined our well trained Year 9 Science Ambassador for a morning of exciting experimentation. Seven laboratories were open for families to share in the learning experience. Experiments included making blow up balloons, Alka-Seltzer rockets, creating lava lunacy, corn flour slime, the aptly named stupid egg trick and a fizzing rainbow!

The event promotes our Specialist School Status in Science and demonstrates our commitment to providing family learning events for students and parents/guardians to learn together. Our next family learning event takes place during National Science and Engineering Week in March and is entitled Reach for the Stars. Details for this event and other events will be advertised on the school’s web site.
