STEM: Darwin Diaries

It is 1881 and the aged Charles Darwin has taken a nap after his customary thinking walk at Down House, in Kent. He is amazed to discover, on waking, that he has, somehow, arrived in the present day, with a modern  £10 note in his pocket. Is he dreaming?

Students took part in an excellent opportunity on Monday 16th November to share the dream and they heard about Darwin's life and achievements, while Darwin himself heard from students about 21st century technology and his position in our modern curriculum.

Darwin toured the science department throughout the day on dropping into lessons and over fifty students, staff and parents joined the STEM evening workshop in the Altitude Building to hear a full account of Darwin’s expedition to South Amercia on HMS Beagle.
